I'll be honest, not well. I don't really need to type anything else as that first sentence pretty much sums up my situation. I do have a topic which is a starting point but not much else currently. I'm going to seek help from the writing specialists in the Wilkinson center after today's class so I have some idea how to structure the essay. As I'm from England
"How on earth am I going to write 6 pages?"
So that's my current situation at the moment, but hopefully by Monday I'll be a bit more positive about my personal narrative!
I know how you feel. Well not the from england part but the "I have no freakin idea what i am going to write about" feeling. I am sure that if you go to the writing center they will definately hook you up. I haven't been there yet but i am sure it really helps having someone else read your paper. And as far as not sounding like an american, american language is probably way stupider than what you are writing since you are from the place our language comes from. Seriously
ReplyDeleteYou are certainly not the only one at a loss for what to write! I agree 100%! it is difficult to know what to say and how to say it. I found that what worked best for me was to just sit down and write a few paragraphs and then walk away. When I came back to it I could refocus and write some more... then I walked away again. And so on... :) And don't worry about trying to write like an American, use YOUR voice! I want to read a story like you would tell it! Anyways, at this point, I hope you've gotten it pretty much finished, but if not- Good Luck! I look forward to reading your story!
